After much deliberation and urging from my parents, I had to get a storage unit to store all of my toys. The habit of buying stuff to re sell at a later date is all fun and games, but where do you store it? For the past decade or so, that was my parents' home. Much to their dismay, boxes of my purchases are always getting shipped there. So to be fair I moved all my stuff to storage unit.
This was a very scary proposition. If any of you have watched Storage Wars or Auction Hunters...I am super paranoid about my unit getting sold. There is a ton of valuable stuff and I have two credit cards on file just in case. I posted some pictures so you can see that I have a shit ton of stuff. All good stuff, but WAY too much. I got the unit back in Summer of 2011. Fast forward 6 months, and it is time to think about buying a house and I need to SELL stuff to make a down payment.
This is generally how ALL collectors lose their collections. They buy the things they love and care about, but then the real world comes by and slaps you across the face and you have to "sell" your most prized possessions. In my case, I want to buy a house. Other people have kids, medical issues, need a car, college, etc...so as much as I love hoarding, i mean collection, it is long over due to start cleaning out my "closet"...
As I post things for sale on ebay, Ill link it here and Ill update to show what the final sale price is vs what I paid for it. I have some really cool random stuff that you would never believe is as valuable as it is. Hope someone other than me gets a kick out of this, but if not, when Im old, at least I can come back here for a reminder.

My Toy Story
I have this horrible habit of buying toys everywhere I go. Over the years, I have accumulated a ton of stuff from all over the world. One of my favorite pastimes is showing my new toys and telling the story of what the toy is, where it came from, and how I came about obtaining it. The funnest part of the "collecting" is finding the toy and sharing the story.
I have decided that I want to maintain a record about the toy stories of my life so that I can always remember and more importantly always share the memories.

Toys Toys and more Toys
So "our" business venture has been postponed indefinitely. Which isnt necessarily a bad thing. Like any good idea, it takes time... how much time is the issue at hand. Nevertheless, I started this damn blog to capture my love for all things that are "toys", so Im going to go ahead and do that.
Im 29 now and I still play with toys. I love them. The only difference between me now and me when I was a kid was that I am no longer at the mercy of my parents when I want to buy something. Now if you know me, that is perhaps not such a good thing... as I have a self-admitted case of "hoarding". I cant just buy one, I have to get the whole set and then some... this leads to some absurdly expensive purchases from time to time that I like to justify by saying its "rare" and it will go up in "value".
There is nothing wrong with playing with toys. If it brings a smile to your face, I see nothing wrong with it. Ill admit I buy some crazy shit at some crazy prices. But the way I see it, if you truly enjoy it and can afford it, why the hell not? Why else do we slave away at "work"? Going back to my justification for this crazy obsession, NOTHING is rare. Dont believe the hype. It is all marketing smoke and mirrors. You should only buy something because you want it, not because you perceive it to be rare.
Now I am going to go and contradict myself by admitting that this perceived "rarity" is what does in fact drive the "value" of any toy. And this is where I really enjoy the buying and selling of toys. Speculating on the price of a toy and what is going to be "rare" and go up in "value" is what brings me a ton of enjoyment. I love going to Target or Toys R Us and buying up transformers and legos trying to guess what is going to go up in value so I can sell it on ebay later.
So my goal with this blog is just to run through some of the crazy shit I buy and share with people my honest to god love for all toys related items. Enjoy!

Mission Objective - Confirmed
This will hopefully be the first of many posts regarding an upcoming venture in life. It has always been a dream of mine to start my own business. I have always firmly believed that the best business ideas started with a good idea and lots of quality individuals to make that vision a reality.
So it is at this juncture in life that we embark on this new adventure. Lets just say that this venture involves Extra Ordinary Humans. My hope and my dream is that I can take this fledgling idea, along with some really talented creative folks, and make something great. By something "great" I am not referring to money. Our goal is to develop/create a product that the customers want and appreciate. With that said, wish us the best of luck and look forward to becoming ExtraOrdinary...
